Influencers have been dismissed and criticised when stepping into the role of interviewer during press junkets or on red carpets. But two creators have gone viral in the past week by asking reactive, inquisitive questions that relate to the celebrity’s film or career.

Lifestyle creator Ambar Lee interviewed Dakota Johnson during the Verity press tour and her interview slot came minutes after the news broke that the actor was starring in the music video for Taylor Swift’s song Patient Zero. Naturally, she asked about it and since she was one of the first people to ask about it and provide an answer, the video gained more than 900,000 views.

Also during the Verity rollout, Benedict and Hannah Townsend asked Anne Hathaway about her character going on shows like Call Her Daddy and Hot Ones and whether it was scripted. It was Hathaway’s answer about not being able to do the hot wings challenge for real that gained global press and drove 500,000 views.
