Overview
Author Sarah J Maas appeared on Call Her Daddy to announce not one but two new books in her romantasy series A Court of Thorns And Roses. Widely known as ACOTAR, this and its sister series Throne of Glass and Crescent City have sold more than 75 million copies worldwide. Fans have been waiting since 2021 for the next installment of the ACOTAR story. Needless to say, this was big news. Maas told Cooper “the story that came out of me was big….” and so the first book will be out on October 27 and the second on January 12 2027.
The ACOTAR audience is a key segment for brands. Majority female, 25- to 34-years-olds who are highly engaged across TikTok and Instagram. This audience is highly participatory: Creators don’t just review; they discuss characters, debate plotlines, share derivative content (fan casts, aesthetic boards) and obsess about every little detail in the Maas multiverse. Post-podcast, Alex Cooper called on her audience to analyse everything the author was wearing in the interview to unpack any Easter Eggs, here.
