Overview

Glossier laid off one-third of its workforce in February 2026, which amounted to more than 50 employees, just months after Colin Walsh was named the new CEO in September 2025.

The brand was valued at $1.8 billion in 2021. The following year, founder Emily Weiss stepped down as CEO and more than 80 people were made redundant.

CORQ’s trends editor Caroline Edwards provides a video analysis on why the millennial brand is failing to keep up with fellow challenger beauty brands.
