Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, engaging guest lecturers and ensuring students have access to industry insights via work experience has become a significant challenge for course leaders. Also, the worlds of media, marketing and journalism have rapidly changed in 2020 meaning the professional landscape the next generation will fit into is set to be significantly different to what’s come before. With our programme of industry speakers, seminars and career insights sessions, we aim to support course leaders by bringing the industry to their students. See our session with Sami Mokbel – senior football reporter for the Daily Mail – on how he got his break in sports journalism, what it takes to break a story (his biggest so far has been David Beckham’s retirement) and how to start building strong relationships with football clubs early on. Our Group Chat sessions aim to inspire, inform and illuminate potential career paths for students after graduation.
- Seminars on what’s digitally driving digital media and marketing now. These pre-recorded sessions are led by Sara McCorquodale – CORQ CEO and author of the award-winning book Influence: How Social Media Influencers Are Shaping Our Digital Future – and aim to give you key insights on important developments plus case studies to use in your own work.
