Ofcom has laid out new measures for video-sharing platforms TikTok, Snapchat, Twitch and OnlyFans in its efforts to protect users from harmful content. These platforms must now ask the age of users and take down harmful or illegal content, including hate speech, or face being heavily fined.

It’s worth noting that this only applies to video streaming services with a regional headquarters in the UK, which excludes YouTube (the streaming giant falls under the Irish regulatory regime), Netflix and Disney Plus.
